Supplier recommendations - Venue Dressing

I’m back again this evening with another wedding supplier recommendation. This time it is for venue dressing!

I have chosen ‘The Wedding House’ at Droitwich.

I had the pleasure of working alongside them last year, at Redhouse Barns in Bromsgrove. The venue was dressed with gorgeous rustic flower hoops, and huge wooden LOVE letters. They looked incredible!

Katie came along on the morning with her Mom, they are such lovely ladies and its so nice to see a business that is run entirely by the whole family. They are a fantastic team and were so efficient when setting up the venue on the morning of the shoot.

It isn’t just room dressing they specialise in though. Amongst many other things they also create gorgeous fresh bridal bouquets, as well as fresh floral arrangements for centrepieces, button holes and bridesmaid posies. I think you will agree these rustic roses and muted greens look stunning!

Do head on over to their page where you can drop them a message as well as see lots of recent venues they have recently covered. I also hear they have won an award recently too so that is worth checking out.

Happy planning!!!

Todays SPRING MINI session...

Our outdoor sessions prove really popular, and today marked the start of Spring Mini’s yet again! Today our sessions were based over West Park in Wolverhampton where we captured the lovely Laura & her family.

We started off having a walk over the bridge, having a natter about their upcoming wedding, and discussing their final plans. It’s so nice to meet up with couples before their big day to offer them a complimentary engagement session and get to know them even more before the big day. It really makes them feel at ease on the day, knowing that they already know a little bit about us and how we work.

A lot of families choose to use their free engagement session as a way to update some nice family portraits, after all, a lot of our wedding couples already have children, and its a nice way to mark the build up to the big day with a nice catalogue of family images.

The weather was nice and dry, overcast but not too cool. We had a walk over the bridge to look at the ducks in the water, we captured some photos on there and then had a short walk to find some nice greenery to form the backdrop of this cute sister portrait.

We then had a walk down to the victorian greenhouse which was superrrrrr hot!!! It was seriously like being in the middle of the amazonian rainforest it was so humid in there.

The girls loved stutting their stuff up and down, which formed some nice natural shots of them laughing and smiling. We love to capture these natural emotions, they represent true characters and are great to look back on.

It just got too hot in there so we decided to leave and head back to the car.

I am going to be starting new wedding recommendation posts for you lovely lot!

I get lots and lots of clients asking me for recommendations for wedding suppliers, over the course of the next month I am going to be posting some very talented people within the industry that I know you will just love!

These services will range from make-up to cakes and venue dressing etc. So along with the use of our complimentary wedding guides you will be able to plan your big day one little step at a time.

My first recommendation today is going to be the wonderful Michelle G make up artist. Based within TDR The Dressing Rooms - Halesowen Michelle specialises in much more than just wedding make-up, she is always there at the other end of the phone if you need a chat or have some ideas for your big day. She's sure to give you some great tips for your colour palettes and make-up ideas. Nothing is too much for her.

So please do go along and give her page a visit and I will be back with some more recommendations on Monday for you lovely lot.

Happy planning!

Last Saturday I had the beautiful little Orla in the studio! She was just 4 days young!!!!!!

She was golden for her session, and slept most of the time, opening her eyes just now and then to peek at the flashing light. She looked gorgeous in yellow, and I just had to make use of my new felted sunflower!! How cute?!

For those of you who don’t know how these newborn sessions go, here’s a little bit of information… upon arrival you will be asked to feed our new little bundle, this will settle them ready for the session and keep their bellies full, ensuring they stay sleepy for most if not all of their session. These sessions can take between 1-3 hours, this timing can totally depend on how baby is on the session, whether they are breastfed (they may need feeding more often than a bottle-fed baby) and also how sleepy the baby is can vary the session time. Making sure that your baby is less than 12-14 days old will much better your chances of a settled baby on the day the session takes place. You will be offered a selection of hot or cold drinks as well as some nice biscuits… I then get started on the session.

If you would like more information on what takes place at my little home studio during a session, or package options please do get in touch, or feel free to take a look through the website where they are all detailed in full.

Leo <3

Last week I had the gorgeous little Leo at my studio. It’s always nice to photograph a child of someone you know, it makes it all that more special!

He literally was a dream throughout his whole session he just slept and slept, and the occasional smile came out too.

Dad asked for something lion themed, scouring through my props I had nothing at all that I could use, so I bit the bullet and made my own cute little lion hat that I am sure will be used many more times in the future on both newborn and sitter sessions.

The best age to capture your baby is between 7-10 days old, this is when they are most bendy, sleepy and dreamy… we also get less (if any at all!) wriggling! Which is a bonus. The props we use are also designed with the baby’s size in mind, making it vital to come as early as you can if your baby is on the larger side.

Please do get in touch if you are interested in a newborn session for your little bundle. You can contact us via the contacts page on this website or feel free to reach out to use via: email, phone, Facebook, or Instagram.

Our Easter Mini Sessions are coming back between 25th-31st March… I’ve opted for more of a woodland look to these sessions this year, which look super cute as you can see…

We do have a little bunny outfit which is suitable for sitters (12-18 months) but you are more than welcome to bring along your own little easter outfits. These sessions are great for gifts, personalised cards and easter gifts too! These sessions are £50 and consist of a 30-minute session in my Sedgley-based home studio, 6 digital images are included along with print release, giving you permission to make as many copies as you like. Children must be able to sit unaided for these sessions. We do have a little bunny romper ages 12-18 months that you're welcome to use, or feel free to bring your own.

These sessions are suitable for 2-3 children, including single portraits and a group one too. The setup will not be changeable during the session so we cannot do a different setup, these sessions include this one setup only.

For more information on these sessions head on over to our facebook page or drop us a message and we will get back to you as soon as we can.

It feels like forever since I last blogged!… It’s been a really busy 12 months and I cant wait to start showing you more of what we get up to as the year goes on.

It’s been a manic year for weddings, we’ve got to meet so many lovely couples who are getting married over the next couple of years. We have been fortunate to also visit some lovely venues such as Blakeland’s Country House, Red House Barns and many more.

We have also collaborated with some really amazing local wedding suppliers to create promotional images. Last year we worked alongside TDR The Dressing Rooms, Michelle G Make-Up Artist, The Wedding House, Katie Ann Elizabeth Hamer hair design, Red House Barns, Davenport House, amongst many more, and we have worked with some really stunning professional models including Maria Gardner (pictured below).

We have also perfected our wedding packages over the last few months to make them the best we possibly can. Offering stunning luxury print packages and bespoke album designs. Our ‘Fern’ package is proving to be the most popular package at the moment, which includes our really beautiful portfolio box, housing 20 luxury mounted prints of choice as well as a dazzling crystal USB memory stick which holds your professionally edited images from your big day.

As a bonus we also offer a complimentary engagement shoot with all of our wedding packages. You can then use your images from that session for one of our lovely signing frames (a great alternative to a guest book).

Please do drop us a message if you are interested in meeting up to view our studio samples. We can come out to you at your home address or your welcome to come over to our home studio to have a chat and a coffee.
